President Barack Obama flew to Sweden on Wednesday for a diplomatic meeting ahead of a two-day G20 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. Obama held a wide-ranging press conference in Sweden relating to the White House’s effort to build support for a strike on Syria in the wake of that government’s [alleged] use of chemical weapons on civilians. One Swedish reporter cornered Obama on the contradictions contained in the fact that a Nobel Peace Prize winner is planning to launch his second war against a sovereign nation.
“I was wondering,” the reporter began, “could you describe the dilemma to being a Nobel Peace Prize winner and getting ready to attack Syria?”
The president replied that, when he delivered the speech accepting that award in 2009, he made it clear that the use of force to safeguard peace is sometimes necessary:
“I think I started the speech by saying that compared to previous recipients I was certainly unworthy,” Obama began. “But what I also described is the challenge all of us face, when we believe in peace but we confront a world that is full of violence.”
Let’s see Mr. President. Continuing to wage two wars of aggression against sovereign nations, one based completely on lies, isn’t violent. Overthrowing sovereign governments while utilizing terrorist elements and radicalizing moderates isn’t violent… huh? Killing unintended targets on your kill list with drone strikes isn’t violent. Your signing the NDAA was peaceful huh? The drones flying in Yemen are flying humanitarian flights huh? Escalating a proxy war in Somalia was peaceful. Selling $30,000,000,000 in weapons to Saudi Arabia was proliferating peace huh? Your sending special forces into 75 nations in covert action was waging peace. [There is more, much more… left out in respect of brevity.]
Obama and his regime are operating out of control and out of check of the American people. The fact that this man, in 2009(!), received the award displays what a sham the award is in and of itself. This wasn’t even a year into his term; all wars expanded and still ongoing et al. Nobel Peace Prize is meaningless. As you can see from the above paragraph. there is nothing worth celebrating here.
While we know Obama utilizes doublespeak often, will someone please tell me how peace exists alongside conflict? How does conflict promote peace? Isn’t that kind of like saying that the rape of women by men fosters and safeguards the respect of women by men?
There was another man that was initially celebrated only for the world to realize what he represented when it was too late:
And, for the record, Obama is simply a continuation of Bush, who was continuing from Clinton… and so on.
But hey, al-CIAeda needs an air force. I’m down for that idea if that air force is a one aircraft deal with John McCain flying and Obama sitting in as co-pilot.
