Japanese Mayor – "War-time sex slaves were necessary"

Osaka mayor Toru Hashimoto claims that there isn’t clear evidence that woman were coerced to become sex slaves, known in WWII Japan as “comfort women”, before and during World War II.

Contradicting his prior statement, as any true moron would, he went on stating:

To maintain discipline in the military, it must have been necessary at that time. For soldiers who risked their lives in circumstances where bullets are flying around like rain and wind, if you want them to get some rest, a comfort women system was necessary. That’s clear to anyone.

Well Tofu, oops…

Well Toru, it’s not clear to me.

Well of course. How can any man in a stressful environment get adequate rest without the ability to sexually take advantage of a woman against her will (also known as rape)? That must be why the people of Okinawa are so understanding of the few US Marines that just needed to get some much needed rest.

How the fuck is this idiot still in office Osaka? Is the fat content of the whale meat you eat filling up the space between your ears? I wonder if the outrage would be louder if a German politician said the same about the Joy Division, whom were also sex slaves, only within concentration camps in Europe.

One thing, unrelated to this guy but that irritates me, is that almost every article I’ve seen, they kind of highlight the fact that this guy is part of a nationalist party. I feel obliged to state that there is nothing bad or wrong about nationalism:

na·tion·al·ism -noun – \ˈnash-nə-ˌli-zəm, ˈna-shə-nə-ˌli-zəm\ – loyalty and devotion to a nation

However, anyone can take any political leaning and make it a negative.
