Watertown Shootout Timeline

Let me start by stating I am absolutely confused at how they attribute stupidity like robbing a 7/11 (for my foreign readers, 7/11 is where you’d stop for a pack of cigarettes and a six-pack on a Friday night), shooting a cop (I feel sorry for that individual and those they left behind), and car jacking to the individuals responsible for the marathon bombing. I think even the dumbest people I have ever met would understand to lay low… so what is the deal here??? HOURS after they release photos and videos bam. Maybe metro homicide units throughout the country can apply this magic to close cases. That said, let’s begin:

Thursday, 5:00pm:  The FBI releases photos and videos of two suspects investigators believe are behind Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing.

Thursday apprx. 10:00pm: Robbery takes place at at 7/11 convenience store in Cambridge, near the MIT campus.

Thursday, 10:20pm:an MIT campuspolice officer was found shot in his vehicle in the area of Vassar and Mainstreets.According to authorities, the officer was found evidencing multiple gunshot wounds.  He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and pronounced deceased.
Moments later, police received reports of an armed carjacking by two males in the area of Third Street in Cambridge. The victim was carjacked at gunpoint by two males and was kept in the car with the suspects for approximately a half hour.  The victim was released at a gas station on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.  He was not injured.
Authorities say the suspects threw explosives [yes, your average car jacker and robber rocks explosives… and terrorists car jack and rob liquor stores] from the car as police followed it into Watertown. The suspects and police exchanged gunfire, and one of the suspects was critically injured.
Friday, 2am: The FBI releases a new photo of Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 on its website.
Friday, 4am: Boston Police and Cambridge Police Chief confirm the two men involved in the fatal shooting of an MIT campus police officer, and a shootout/chase into Watertown were the same suspects believed to be involved in the Boston Marathon bombing [WTF? And I thought my girlfriend had a funny way of connecting dots].
The Middlesex County D.A. confirms Suspect #1 has died while Suspect #2 escaped.
4am: Police release a new image of Suspect #2, from a 7/11 convenience store that was robbed several hours earlier.
